Shana grew up ski racing in the Pacific Northwest where she fell in love with mountain biking at the young age of 14. After retiring from the U.S. Ski Team in 1998, she gave downhill mountain bike racing a try, but her penchant for crashing made her consider pursuing windsurfing and surfing as safer endeavors. Now 15 years later, after surfing coastlines from South American to Sri Lanka, she is giving gravity sports a second chance. “My neighbor keeps coming home from the Super-D Race Series with big smiles and tales of the Dirty Harlots, so I decided to go for it!”, says Shana. The Harlots are proud to have snatched her up after the first Enduro Race in Bend in June.
Moving back to the Gorge after a 5 year hiatus working for the “man”, Shana now puts her energy into teaching love of sport to the Columbia Gorge’s youth as the program director for the Cooper Spur Race Team.
