To put it simply, Stephanie Armesto is a rockstar! We are so fortunate to have her on the team again this year. Stephanie took the first place overall in the Oregon Enduro Series 2012 &2013 in her catagory. She will be riding “The Sexy Beast” this year. Her new carbon Specialized Enduro 29er. Watch out for this one!
Whitewater kayaking some of the world’s most renowned (and gnarly) rivers, including the Zambezi and Nile rivers in Africa, and former competitive collegiate-level soccer player are also on this girl’s sport’s resume–both of which she has pursued all over the world.
Stephanie’s infectious smile will leave a mark on you, and so will her stoke for riding and life: “You can never stop learning, playing, and loving!”, she says. Amen, sister!
The Nitty Gritty on Stephanie Armesto
Number of season racing: 4
Race Category for 2014 season: Cat 1 open
Favorite type of riding: High alpine, fast and flowy. I enjoy challenging technical rides and love the Whistler Bike Park!
Favorite Race Course so far: Sandy
Proudest race moment or riding achievement: Being a part of our local weekly ladies’ ride, Post and Pinot, and supporting and introducing so many amazing young ladies to Mt. Biking. Watching their improvement made me smile and feel proud on every ride.
Personal Race or riding goal for this season: Rubber side down, train hard because it always seems a bit sweeter on top of the Podium, and have fun!
Favorite tunes to ride to: I like listening to my teamates tires chasing me through the woods.
Preferred post-ride beverage/food: Hands down a IPA at Dirty Fingers and then a Double Mt. Pizza.
When I’m not on my bike, you can find me: Playing on the water frozen or flowing: whitewater kayaking, Fishing, surfing, kiting, windsurfing, skiing, and snowboarding. I love globetrotting to foreign places to experience different rivers, oceans, and cultures.
I have a weakness for: Mastiffs!
One bike accessory/product I can’t live without: Dirty finger sticker on my seat post.
Biggest pet peeve: People who post on Facebook what they are doing every hour. NOBODY F-ING CARES!!!!
Second favorite movie: Breaking away (I try to watch this movie early season to get me motivated to jump on my road bike and start training in my Daisy Duke cutoffs because I hate spandex!).
